Overview

The IT Compliance Officer ensures that our technology systems and processes adhere to relevant regulations and best practices. This role involves monitoring compliance, conducting audits, and implementing policies that safeguard our data and support our mission in driving social impact in Uganda. By fostering a culture of accountability and security, the IT Compliance Officer helps us maintain the trust of our donors, volunteers, and community partners.

Responsibilities

1. Develop and implement IT compliance policies and procedures to ensure adherence to relevant laws and regulations.
2. Conduct regular audits of IT systems and processes to identify compliance gaps and recommend improvements.
3. Monitor changes in legislation and industry standards related to IT compliance and data security.
4. Provide training and support to staff on IT compliance requirements and best practices.
5. Collaborate with other departments to ensure integrated compliance efforts across the organization.
6. Prepare and present compliance reports to management and stakeholders.
7. Respond to and investigate any compliance-related incidents or breaches.
8. Assist in managing risk assessments and developing risk mitigation strategies.
9. Maintain up-to-date documentation of compliance processes and protocols.
10. Engage with external auditors and regulatory bodies during compliance reviews and assessments.
