Overview

The Gardener / Groundskeeper is responsible for maintaining the beauty and health of our outdoor spaces, ensuring a welcoming environment for our community and visitors. This role involves planting, pruning, and caring for plants, as well as managing landscaping tasks to enhance the overall aesthetic of our nonprofit's facilities. By nurturing our gardens, you’ll play a vital part in creating a vibrant atmosphere that reflects our mission and values.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and enhance the aesthetic appeal of gardens and grounds.
  • Plant, water, and care for flowers, shrubs, and trees as needed.
  • Monitor plant health and manage pest control using eco-friendly methods.
  • Regularly mow lawns and trim hedges to ensure a neat appearance.
  • Assist in the design and implementation of landscaping projects.
  • Maintain garden tools and equipment in good working condition.
  • Manage composting and waste disposal practices.
  • Collaborate with volunteers for community garden initiatives.
  • Educate community members on sustainable gardening practices.
  • Report any maintenance needs or safety hazards to management.
