Overview

The Finance Specialist plays a crucial role in managing the organization's financial operations, ensuring accurate budgeting, reporting, and compliance with donor requirements. This position involves analyzing financial data, preparing financial statements, and collaborating with program teams to support effective resource allocation for impactful community projects. Ultimately, the Finance Specialist helps drive transparency and accountability in our mission to create positive social change in Uganda.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily financial transactions and ensure accurate recording in the accounting system.
  • Prepare monthly financial reports, including income statements and balance sheets.
  • Assist in budgeting processes and monitor budget compliance.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure financial integrity and compliance with policies.
  • Handle donor fund tracking and reporting to ensure transparency and accountability.
  • Coordinate with external auditors during annual audits.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and documentation for all transactions.
  • Provide financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
  • Support training and capacity-building for staff on financial management practices.
  • Stay updated on relevant financial regulations and best practices in the nonprofit sector.
