Overview

The Data Engineer at the organisation is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining robust data pipelines that support our mission-driven initiatives in Uganda. This role involves transforming raw data into actionable insights, ensuring data quality, and collaborating with various teams to enhance our impact measurement and reporting processes. By leveraging data effectively, the Data Engineer helps inform decision-making and drive social change.

Responsibilities

• Design, construct, and maintain robust data pipelines to support data integration and processing.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data needs and develop data models that meet organizational requirements.
• Ensure data quality and integrity by implementing validation checks and monitoring systems.
• Optimize data storage solutions for efficient access and retrieval of information.
• Utilize various data processing tools and technologies to analyze and visualize data effectively.
• Document data processes and architectural designs to promote transparency and knowledge sharing.
• Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in data engineering and analytics.
• Support the integration of data from diverse sources, including external databases and APIs.
• Work with the IT team to ensure secure data handling and compliance with data protection regulations.
