Overview

The Senior Accountant at the organisation plays a crucial role in ensuring the financial health and transparency of our nonprofit operations. This position involves managing financial reporting, overseeing budgeting processes, and ensuring compliance with regulations, all while supporting our mission to drive social impact in Uganda. The Senior Accountant will collaborate closely with various teams to provide insights and foster responsible financial practices.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements and reports.
• Oversee budgeting processes and monitor budget performance.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and nonprofit standards.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable functions.
• Conduct regular audits to ensure financial integrity.
• Collaborate with program managers to track funding and expenditures.
• Assist in the development of financial policies and procedures.
• Prepare tax filings and ensure timely submission.
• Provide training and support to finance staff and volunteers.
