Access to clean and safe water is essential for life, health, and dignity. However, at Glorious Future Foundation, the current water source—a manual borehole—is outdated and no longer sufficient to meet the growing needs of children, staff, and the surrounding community. Long waiting times, limited output, and physical strain in water collection have made access to clean water increasingly difficult.
The Clean Water, Healthy Lives Initiative seeks to address this urgent need by upgrading the existing borehole or constructing a modern, efficient water system equipped with a pump. This will ensure a reliable and sustainable supply of clean water for all beneficiaries.
Through this project, children under the foundation’s care will have consistent access to safe drinking water, improving hygiene, health, and daily living conditions. Staff and volunteers will also benefit from improved operational efficiency, while the surrounding community will gain access to a dependable water source—reducing the burden of long-distance water collection.
Clean water plays a critical role in preventing waterborne diseases, improving sanitation, and supporting overall wellbeing. For children, access to safe water directly impacts their health, school attendance, and quality of life. For communities, it strengthens resilience and reduces vulnerability.
With a transparent and accountable approach, 100% of donations directed to this project go toward the development and maintenance of the water system. By supporting this initiative, donors contribute directly to saving lives, improving health outcomes, and creating a sustainable solution that benefits both current and future generations.
Reliable access to clean water remains a significant challenge in many underserved communities. At the foundation, the current manual borehole system is no longer adequate to meet demand due to increased usage and operational limitations.
Key challenges include:
✔ Insufficient water output to serve all users
✔ Long queues and delays in accessing water
✔ Physical strain, especially for children, in pumping water manually
✔ Risk of contamination due to system inefficiencies
✔ Increased vulnerability to waterborne diseases
Without intervention, these challenges continue to affect health, hygiene, and daily operations at the foundation and within the surrounding community.
Limited access to clean water also impacts:
✔ Children’s wellbeing and school participation
✔ Hygiene and sanitation standards
✔ Overall community health and productivity
Addressing this issue is essential to ensuring a safe, healthy, and sustainable environment for all beneficiaries.
This project will implement a sustainable and efficient water system through either upgrading the existing borehole or constructing a new modern borehole with a pumping system.
✔ Technical assessment of the current water system
✔ Borehole upgrade or drilling of a new borehole
✔ Installation of a modern pump (electric or solar-powered where feasible)
✔ Construction of water access points for ease of use
✔ Community engagement and training on maintenance
✔ Ongoing monitoring and system maintenance
✔ Borehole Upgrade – Improve efficiency and output of existing system
✔ New Borehole Installation – Develop a modern, high-capacity water source
✔ Pump Installation – Ensure reliable and easy water access
This approach ensures long-term sustainability, reliability, and scalability of clean water access.
Providing a reliable clean water source creates lasting benefits:
✔ Reduced incidence of waterborne diseases
✔ Improved hygiene and sanitation practices
✔ Increased time for education and productive activities
✔ Enhanced quality of life for children and communities
✔ Sustainable access to clean water for years to come
This project contributes to stronger, healthier communities while supporting the foundation’s mission of improving wellbeing and dignity among vulnerable populations.
