Liver Health Foundation Urges Communities to Stay Vigilant Following Ebola Outbreak in Uganda

Liver Health Foundation joins the Ministry of Health, frontline health workers, and community organisations across Uganda in responding to the recently confirmed Ebola outbreak linked to imported cases from the Democratic Republic of Congo. Health authorities have intensified surveillance, contact tracing, and public awareness efforts to prevent further spread of the disease.

As an organisation committed to strengthening community health awareness and supporting vulnerable populations, we encourage the public to remain calm, informed, and vigilant during this period. Early reporting of symptoms, proper hygiene practices, and cooperation with health authorities remain essential in controlling outbreaks and protecting communities.

Ebola is a serious viral disease that spreads through direct contact with infected bodily fluids or contaminated materials. Symptoms may include fever, weakness, vomiting, diarrhea, unexplained bleeding, and severe body pain. Community members are advised to seek immediate medical attention if symptoms appear and avoid self-medication or misinformation from unverified sources.

We recognize and appreciate the tireless efforts of healthcare workers, local leaders, and nonprofit organizations currently supporting awareness campaigns and emergency response activities across affected areas. Public health emergencies remind us of the importance of strong community systems, accessible healthcare information, and coordinated local action.

Liver Health Foundation remains committed to supporting public health education, community awareness initiatives, and partnerships that strengthen health resilience across Uganda. We encourage everyone to continue following official updates from the Ministry of Health and practicing preventive health measures to keep families and communities safe.

Together, through awareness, cooperation, and responsible action, we can help protect our communities and prevent further spread of the disease.
