NGO Digital Capacity Building Program: Helping Organizations Be Seen, Understood & Supported

Across Uganda, nonprofit organizations are working every day to improve lives and respond to challenges in their communities. They are supporting children, strengthening livelihoods, promoting education, protecting vulnerable people and creating opportunities for communities to thrive.

Yet doing important work is only part of the challenge.

People also need to be able to find that work, understand it and trust the organization behind it.

This is why Little X Little has introduced the NGO Digital Capacity Building Program — a pilot initiative designed to help nonprofit organizations build stronger digital foundations for communicating their work and strengthening their fundraising readiness.

Your Work Deserves to Be Seen

For many organizations, their work exists mainly through community activities, WhatsApp conversations, social media posts, photographs and documents shared when someone asks for information.

These channels are useful, but they can make it difficult for a potential donor, partner, volunteer or institution to get a complete picture of an organization.

A strong digital presence gives the organization a place where its story can come together.

Who are you? What problem are you addressing? Who do you serve? What programs do you run? What projects are you implementing? What difference are you making? How can someone support your work?

Your story should have a home.

More Than a Website

The program is not about simply giving organizations websites.

It is about helping organizations organize and communicate their work professionally in the digital environment.

A well-structured digital presence can bring together an organization's mission, programs, projects, impact, leadership, evidence and opportunities for engagement in one clear place.

It can make it easier for someone discovering the organization for the first time to move from:

“Who are they?”

to:

“I understand what they do.”

and ultimately:

“I want to support this work.”

That progression — clarity, credibility, confidence, engagement and opportunity — is at the heart of the program.

Investing in Nonprofit Capacity

Little X Little believes that stronger nonprofit organizations can contribute to stronger communities.

For the pilot, 20 organizations will receive digital capacity support with a market value of UGX 1.7 million per organization.

Each participating organization contributes UGX 500,000, while Little X Little invests UGX 1.2 million toward the program.

This shared-cost approach is intentional. The participating organization has ownership and commitment to the process, while Little X Little carries the larger investment as part of its nonprofit capacity-building mission.

What the Program Supports

The program covers seven areas of digital capacity support:

✔️ Digital Planning & Consultation

✔️ Professional Website Development

✔️ Donation Integration

✔️ Content & Information Structuring

✔️ Search Engine Optimization

✔️ Staff Orientation & Training

✔️ Launch & Technical Support

Together, these components are designed to help an organization move from scattered information to a clearer and more useful digital presence.

From Your Work to Greater Fundraising Readiness

The ultimate goal is not technology for its own sake.

An organization may already have meaningful projects, committed staff and measurable community impact. The challenge is making that information accessible and understandable to people who may want to support the work.

The program helps organizations bring together their:

Work → Projects → Evidence → Stories → Impact → Organization Information → Calls to Action

This creates a stronger foundation for communication and engagement — and can position organizations to pursue future fundraising and partnership opportunities more effectively.

Who Can Participate?

The pilot is intended for organizations that are serious about strengthening their digital capacity.

Participating organizations should be registered on Little X Little, have completed their organization profile, submitted the required compliance information, published at least one community project and be willing to actively maintain and use their digital presence.

The program is therefore not simply an opportunity to receive a digital product.

It is an opportunity for an organization to become better equipped to communicate its work.

Starting With 20 Organizations

Little X Little is beginning with a pilot of 20 nonprofit organizations.

That means:

✔️ 20 organizations.
✔️ 20 stronger digital foundations.
✔️ 20 organizations better equipped to communicate their work and ✔️ strengthen fundraising readiness.

The pilot will also help Little X Little learn what nonprofit organizations need most as they build their digital capacity and develop the program further.

Your Work Matters. Make It Easier for the World to Find It.

Nonprofits are already doing the work.

They are serving communities, responding to needs and creating change.

The next step is helping them build the digital foundation that allows more people to see that work, understand it and find ways to support it.

That is the purpose of the Little X Little NGO Digital Capacity Building Program.

20 organizations. One pilot. A stronger digital future for organizations creating change.
