Bright Parents Nursery and Primary School in Kisowera, Mukono District, has been invited to represent Uganda at a Junior Ultimate Frisbee Tournament hosted at Kaimosi University in Kenya. The team consists of 24 talented student athletes under the age of 16, accompanied by 9 teachers and coaches.
For these children, this opportunity is about much more than sports. It is a chance to build confidence, develop leadership skills, experience cultural exchange, and demonstrate that children from rural communities can compete and excel on an international stage.
Many of the participating students have never traveled outside their district, and this tournament presents a life-changing opportunity to broaden their horizons while proudly representing their school, community, and country.
To participate, the team requires support for transportation, accommodation, meals, tournament-related expenses, border-crossing requirements, and essential travel logistics. The project seeks to raise up to USD 4,000 to enable the safe participation of all 33 travelers.
By supporting this initiative, donors will help young people gain valuable life experiences, strengthen teamwork and leadership skills, and inspire hundreds of other students in their community to pursue their dreams beyond geographical and economic limitations.
Children in rural communities often have limited access to opportunities that expose them to national and international experiences. Although Bright Parents Nursery and Primary School has successfully developed a competitive Ultimate Frisbee team, financial barriers threaten their ability to participate in the tournament in Kenya.
The team comprises 24 students and 9 teachers and coaches who must travel across borders and stay in Kenya for the duration of the competition. The costs associated with transportation, accommodation, meals, tournament participation, travel documentation, and emergency contingencies are beyond the school's available resources.
Without external support, these young athletes risk missing a unique opportunity to represent Uganda, develop their talents, and gain experiences that could significantly shape their personal growth and future aspirations.
This project seeks to raise USD 4,000 to facilitate the participation of the Bright Parents Ultimate Frisbee Team in the Junior Ultimate Frisbee Tournament in Kenya.
Funds raised will be used to:
Throughout the campaign and tournament period, supporters will receive updates, photographs, stories from participants, and post-event reports demonstrating how their contributions directly impacted the children's experience and success.
The impact of this project extends far beyond a single sporting event.
Participation in an international tournament will help the students develop leadership, teamwork, discipline, communication skills, and self-confidence. Upon their return, the participants will become role models for more than 450 fellow students at Bright Parents Nursery and Primary School, demonstrating that children from rural communities can achieve success beyond their immediate environment.
The experience will also strengthen regional friendships and cultural understanding among young people from East African countries, promoting unity and collaboration across borders.
By investing in these children today, donors are helping create future leaders who will carry forward lessons of confidence, determination, teamwork, and community service for years to come. This project contributes to youth empowerment, educational enrichment, and the long-term development of a generation of young Ugandans with broader perspectives and greater opportunities.
