Despite national efforts to improve education access, 14% of children of primary school age remain out of school. This gap in attendance is alarming, as primary education is often considered the most fundamental building block of a child's educational journey.
Read MoreOne of the most significant barriers to education is financial constraints. While education is recognized as a fundamental right, it's a privilege that many families simply cannot afford. Parents are burdened with paying for school fees, uniforms, and supplies—expenses that quickly add up. The average annual school fee of UGX 278,000 (around $75) is unaffordable for most rural families, where many parents earn less than this amount in a month. In urban areas, school costs are even higher, making it nearly impossible for lower-income families to keep their children in school consistently.

Some try to make a small living—cleaning windshields, shining shoes, or selling meagre goods—while others roam, waiting for anything that could change their fate.
Read MoreThe foundation for lifelong learning and success is built in the early years of a child's life. Research and experience show that early education plays a crucial role in shaping a child's future, both academically and socially. In fact, the first few years of a child's life are a time when the brain is developing at its fastest rate. During this period, the experiences a child has can have long-lasting effects on their cognitive abilities, emotional development, and ability to adapt to the world around them.
